On May 27 and 28, more than 120 researchers from the Stem Cell Network NRW met for their internal meeting at the Gustav Stresemann Institute in Bonn to discuss their latest findings and current developments in stem cell research.
In 2024, the Internal Meeting of the Stem Cell Network NRW took place for the 14th time. There were a total of 21 presentations divided into five sessions which covered various topics such as disease modeling, regenerative medicine or 3D culture and organoids. Young scientists in particular took the opportunity to present their research results, some of which had not yet been published, to a larger, interdisciplinary audience for the first time and to answer questions from the participants. Extended breaks offered a variety of opportunities for interdisciplinary and cross-location exchange between scientists of different generations. In the afternoon of the first day of the event a poster session, which was very well received and led to lively discussions at the posters, took place.
For the first time this Internal Meeting was accompanied by a Career Day which offered young researchers and students the opportunity to obtain information and advice on career paths in the university environment and professional options in the private sector. At the same time, a strategy meeting was held for all interested members of the network, at which the strategic realignment of the StN was discussed in a lively manner.
The first day of the conference ended with an evening get-together and a pub quiz.
