Promotion of interdisciplinary translational and networking projects in stem cell research in North Rhine-Westphalia

An initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia

Stem cell research plays an important role in the future medical fields of regenerative and personalized medicine, but also in biopharmaceutical development. In addition, research on and with stem cells raises a number of legal, ethical and sociological questions. The state government has therefore set itself the goal of further promoting the distinctive and diverse research landscape in the field of stem cell research in NRW. New findings and research results in this field can make important contributions to social and economic progress, to the fight against diseases and to overcoming other major challenges. Evidence-based results from stem cell research can thus form the basis for broader social exchange and further interdisciplinary research and development activities. Cooperation across disciplines and locations is a crucial prerequisite for this.

The Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (MKW) is therefore announcing the program for the "Promotion of interdisciplinary translational and networking projects in stem cell research in North Rhine-Westphalia" (Stammzell-InTraNetz.NRW).

This program, which is to be put out to tender annually, is intended to promote small-scale, interdisciplinary projects from various disciplines. These can be carried out as individual projects or collaborative projects with a duration of up to one year and should be supported by a strong translational approach.

The third round of submissions is open until May 6, 2024, 16:00 (CET)
