Medical ethics - besides political philosophy and theories of justice - is a central research focus at the Chair of Practical Philosophy. Within this focus, ethical questions of genome editing, embryo protection, pre-implantation diagnostics, and organ transplantation including xenotransplantation are addressed. In addition, a special focus is placed on problems of scarcity and the influence of economic factors on medical decisions.
