Jubilee 20 years Stem Cell Network.NRW

Two important anniversaries in the German stem cell scene are taking place this year: the German Stem Cell Network is holding its 10th annual conference and the North Rhine-Westphalian Stem Cell Network has its 20th anniversary. This special event will be celebrated in the context of an international meeting jointly hosted by the German Stem Cell Network (GSCN) and the Stem Cell Network North Rhine-Westphalia (StN).

GSCN and StN are thrilled that nobel prize winner Shinya Yamanaka accepted a joint invitation from Hans Schöler (President of the GSCN) and Oliver Brüstle (Chairman of StN) to present in the Presidential Symposium.

Due to the double anniversary the conference will last four instead of three days and there will be as many as six keynote lectures: Elena Cattaneo (Milan, Italy), Fiona Doetsch (Basel, Switzerland), Katsuhiko Hayashi (Fukuoka, Japan), Heiko Lickert (Munich, Germany), Hanna Mikkola (Los Angeles, US), Shinya Yamanaka (Kyoto, Japan). The conference will cover the latest findings in stem cell biology and is THE meeting-to-be for a large number of stem cell researchers in Germany.

As part of the four-day conference, the Stem Cell Network NRW will have its own symposium embedded in the regular GSCN conference on Wednesday 14. Next to two regular sessions in the StN Symposium Elena Cattaneo (Laboratory of Stem Cell Biology and Pharmacology of Neurodegenerative Diseases, University of Milan) will give her keynote lecture in this symposium. As always at the GSCN conferences, there will be also a Presidential Symposium with the GSCN Awardees, a non-PI Meeting, an ELSA Symposium, plenty of scientific talks, two poster sessions and two social events for personal exchange and to network! An interesting and broad industry exhibition will offer an insight into the latest technologies and personal contact as well as a set of sessions.

Around 500 participants are expected in Münster! Do not miss out on the early bird rates and make sure you register by June 10! Due to the 20th anniversary, there is a special treat for all members of the Stem Cell Network NRW: Instead of regular rates, the GSCN member fees apply for all scientists of the Stem Cell Network NRW!!

More information and the current program are available on the GSCN conference website.
