The UniStem Day is an international day of action on stem cell research aimed at senior high school students. Every year numerous scientific institutions, mostly from North Rhine-Westphalia, open their laboratories to give young people an insight into the world of stem cells. In 2022, almost 400 students from 12 cities participated in the offers from 15 universities and university hospitals spread across North Rhine-Westphalia. This means that as many as 88% of all nationwide UniStem Day offerings took place in North Rhine-Westphalia!

Since 15 research institutes from NRW have already confirmed their participation, next year's UniStem Day offer for school students could be even larger and the previous record participation could be exceeded. The first offerings aimed either at entire classes or individual students are already open for registration. An overview of the offers can be found here.

The offers are free of charge, the number of available places is, however, limited.
