Industry Excursion to PL BioScience

As a scientist working at a university or university hospital it is often difficult to gain insight into how industrial companies operate and the professional network can be limited to contacts from the academic field. However, establishing contacts within the industry sector early in your own career can be most beneficial not only for pursuing your own path, but also for the translational process of stem cell research in general. Therefore, the Stem Cell Network NRW gives stem cell researchers in North Rhine-Westphalia the possibility to get to know small and large stem cell-related companies. Through these excursions, stem cell researchers can gain deeper insights into the field of research of the respective company and the site visit facilitates establishing personal contacts for future collaborations as well as career opportunities.

We are very delighted to announce that in 2022 we can finally offer our next excursion: On March 16, 2022 we organize a company visit to PL BioScience GmbH in Aachen.
PL BioScience is still a young and small company, which will give the participants of the excursion a completely different insight than a visit to a large company.

The following aspects of interest will be covered during the day:

• Insights into the research areas of PL BioScience and first-hand reports from the R&D team
• How to found a start-up and what is it like to work at a start-up?
• Information on quality control in an industry setting
• Possibility to ask group leaders questions about working at PL BioScience and, in general, the career path into industry

The offer is open to all interestedstem cell scientists in North Rhine-Westphalia (PhD students, postdocs, professors, master students…). However, the number of participants is restricted to 20 persons.  

Please note that the prerequisite for participation is full Corona vaccination protection and booster vaccination. There may be further requirements depending on the current pandemic situation and applicable corona protection regulations. We will keep all registered participants informed.
