Instead of a poster session, elevator pitches were chosen as contribution and presentation format for the 10th International Meeting.
More than 80 scientists were selected by abstracts and were invited to present their research data in a pre-recorded 3 min elevator pitch. These videos gave a quick overview on the research approach and generated interest for more information. The pitch presenters invested a lot of time in preparing the pitches and it was impressive to see the versatile and creative formats! The corresponding abstract, list of co-authors and a direct contact to the main author were also available next to each pitch.
During the conference there were dedicated “Pitch your research” sessions and pitch presenters were directly available for further questions – similar to a discussion at a poster on a “normal” conference. Additionally, pitch presenters could be contacted at any time during the conference via message or videocall on the conference platform. The pitches are clustered in 7 topics and the videos will stay online at the conference platform until April 30.
The best three pitches were awarded during the final session. The prizes are kindly provided by The International Journal of Biochemistry & Cell Biology!
